Residential Rebates
YLWD is offering several residential rebate programs to help you conserve water:
- SmarTimers
- Ultra-Low Flush Toilets - rebate ended
- High Efficiency Toilets
- Synthetic Turf
- Rotating Nozzles
SmarTimers
Yorba Linda Water District is offering rebates through the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) to customers who replace their conventional irrigation controller with a “Smart” Irrigation Controller, also known as a Weather-based Irrigation Controller or ET Controller.
A “Smart” Irrigation Controller will automatically adjust the watering schedule according to your plants’ actual water needs using information such as local weather conditions, plant type, and soil moisture. This can result in significant water savings, typically by 30% or more!
The rebate varies depending on the size of the current controller. Only a limited number will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to eligible customers.
Please contact Cindy Mejia at cmejia@ylwd.com or 714-701-3024 for more information and to request application materials. Additional information can also be found directly from MWDOC at www.mwdoc.com or 1-866-846-3725. All applications will be reviewed to determine eligibility. Controllers purchased before an application is approved will not be eligible for a rebate.
Ultra Low-Flush Toilets
This program has now ended. Applications postmarked after December 31, 2007 will not be considered for the $50.00 ULFT Rebate.
$150.00 rebates on High Efficiency Toilets (HETs) are still available through the HET Rebate Program.
High Efficiency Toilets
The residential High Efficiency Toilet (HET) Rebate Program is designed to aid homeowners in replacing old, water-guzzling toilets manufactured before 1994 with new, high efficiency toilets.
Rebates go toward the cost of the HET, not installation. In applying for a rebate, you consent to onsite installation verification from the Municipal Water District of Orange County.
IMPORTANT: Only single family detached homes built before 1994 are eligible to receive rebates. The toilet being replaced must be flushing at 3.5 gallons per flush or more. You may not participate in this program if the toilets in your home are already ultra-low flush (1.6 gallons per flush) or high efficiency (1.28 gallons per flush), or if you acquired toilet(s) through any other Municipal Water District of Orange County toilet program.
HETs must be included on the MWDOC approved list to be eligible for a rebate. Please confirm that the model numbers for both the tank and the bowl appear on the approved list. Bowl and tank numbers must be sold in the combinations that appears on the list and cannot be pieced together from line to line.
A maximum of three (3) rebates per single family residence over the life of the home are allowed through this program.
Please contact Cindy Mejia at cmejia@ylwd.com or 714-701-3024 for more information and to request application materials. Additional information can also be found directly from MWDOC at www.mwdoc.com or 1-866-846-3725. All applications will be reviewed to determine eligibility.
Synthetic Turf
Single family residences in Orange County are eligible to receive a rebate for the purchase and installation of synthetic turf. Synthetic turf purchased and installed on or after July 10, 2007 will be considered for a rebate. To qualify for rebate, the synthetic turf installed must replace a minimum of 500 square feet of irrigated landscape.
