Tours

The Tour:  Residents of the District 16 years of age and over are eligible to participate in the water facilities tour. Tours are normally scheduled during February and September of each year. Tour guests travel by chartered bus to the Diemer Water Filtration Plant located in the hills above Yorba Linda.  At this facility they visit the water quality testing laboratory and observe the water filtration and treatment processes.

Guests then bus to Yorba Linda Water District's Richfield Road Plant to view water wells, operations headquarters, the computerized water distribution control system and in-progress renovations to the plant.

The groundwater recharging operation at the Santa Ana River is the next destination, with a special emphasis on water quality and groundwater protection.  After a stop for lunch, guests will view reservoirs and other key facilities in the developing sections of Yorba Linda.

Throughout the day, discussion will focus on water resources -  how and why water is imported from the Colorado River and northern California, and the increasingly vital subjects of water supply & conservation, drought tolerant landscape and water quality.  Questions are welcome, and lunch is provided by the District. test
