Water Rates & Fees
As of January 1, 2008 these are the following water Rates & Fees:
Residential Rates and Deposits
- Water consumption is billed at $1.79 per billing unit.
One unit equals 100 cubic feet or 748 gallons. - Minimum service charge: $8.35 per month.
- Where sewer is available, $5.50 charge for sewer main maintenance
Deposits
Deposits are not required when service is initially requested. If an account becomes delinquent and is subject to a shutoff, a deposit of $92.00 will be collected at that time. All security deposits will be held in a non-interest bearing account against a future water bill after 24 months of timely payments. If the account is closed during the 24 month period, the security deposit will be applied to the closing bill and/or the balance refunded to the applicant.
Residential Fees
- Discontinuance notice: $18
A Notice of Discontinuance (yellow tag) is posted on your door 45 days from the billing date (sixteen days after the bill due date). - Turn off discontinued service: $28
Service is discontinued 51 days after the billing date. A representative is sent out to turn the service off - Re-establish service during business hours: $28
(between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday - excluding holidays) - Re-establish service after business hours: $148
(after 4:30 p.m. and before 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday or weekends and holidays) - Returned checks: $25
- Refused Auto-Pay: $15
- Tampering with a water district lock: $38
- Meter removal and replacement: $56

- 4" and larger $1,553.00
Fire System Fee
Yorba Linda Water District charges a monthly fee for the availability of water to the private fire systems for commercial buildings. The fee is based on the size of the fire system meter.
