Division Responsibilities​

The Human Resources Department strives to provide quality service to the District and its employees by recruiting qualified individuals, retaining valuable employees, administering benefits, mitigating risk, providing a safe work environment, retaining vital records, issuing policies and procedures that promote individual and team success, and increase the overall value to the District. These services are achieved through team-work, organizational skills, proactive efforts, and a balance between professionalism and the ability to have fun! The Human Resources Department is composed of two divisions: HR Admin and Risk Management. Below is a breakdown of some of the functions for each division.

HR Administration

The HR Admin Division is responsible for all aspects of recruiting prospective employees including the advertisement, selection, post-offer screening, and new hire on-boarding. Additionally, the division performs classification and compensation analysis; processes employee performance appraisals, pay status changes, and exit interviews; and administers employee benefit programs. This division also plans, directors, organizes, and implements comprehensive District-wide human resources, labor, and employee relations management programs and policies.

Risk Management​

The Risk Management Division is responsible for handling liability claims, investigation, reporting, and recommendations to the Board of Directors to either reject or accept claims submitted. The division strives to reduce the frequency and severity of claims through proactive risk management efforts.
