Operations
Division Responsibilities
The Operations Department is responsible for maintaining the water storage and distribution system, the sewer collection system, and the well water production system.
Water Production
YLWD operates wells and booster stations, obtains imported water from the regional supplier, and maintains the computerized telemetry system
Water Maintenance System
Operations maintains fire hydrants and water meters, repairs water pipelines and valves, and performs facilities maintenance.
Water Quality
Operations monitors well and spot testing, maintains records, and administers cross-connection control.
Sewer System Maintenance
Operations cleans and repairs sewer pipelines and one sewer lift station.
Mechanical Services
Operations maintains the District’s fleet of maintenance trucks and other vehicles, heavy equipment, booster pump engines and other motorized equipment.
Meter Reading
Operations performs meter reading, handles field service requests including turning on/off accounts, meter repairs, water consumption investigations and consultations and meter calibrations.
