Message from the Board President
In a short time, life has changed for all of us. Over the past weeks, the world has been introduced to COVID-19. This virus has changed how we go about our daily lives. It has reminded us of the importance of washing our hands and introduced to new terms like social distancing. It has also shown us the importance of working together. In this time of uncertainty, we want you to be confident in your water and sewer service. Yorba Linda Water District’s $1 billion infrastructure will continue to serve the community and deliver safe and reliable service.
We know you are being inundated with a lot of information at this time. At YLWD, we also want to remind you of a few simple reminders:
- Your water is safe to drink. Although there may be a shortage of water bottles, in the grocery store, your tap water is safe for you and your family to enjoy. YLWD water meets all of the state and federal requirements.
- Please do not flush disinfecting wipes down your toilet. Many of us do not realize but those “disposable” wipes can do significant damage to the sewer system. So please, dispose of those wipes in trash cans NOT your toilet.
- Our team is still here to assist you 24/7. During this time, you will continue to see our YLWD crews continue to provide service to our community. Feel free to wave to them when you see them in your neighborhood, but please do not approach them. Please also be aware that the YLWD lobby is closed at this time. To facilitate an easier way to view your most recent statement or pay your bills, we have improved our online bill pay service. Please visit us online at www.ylwd.com to best assist you!
Many things are uncertain at this time. Every day, new reports surface regarding this terrible virus. We, at YLWD, want you to be confident in your water and sewer service. We are in this together. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 714-701-3000 or visit us online at www.ylwd.com.

First and foremost, we would like to assure customers that your drinking water is safe to drink. The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has no impact on the quality of your drinking water. Our water meets and exceeds both the state and federal drinking water standards. While many businesses have been ordered to shut-down, we continue to operate and conduct water quality sampling every day.
YLWD is also taking steps to ensure that service to our customers will continue uninterrupted so you can feel confident and know that your service will be available to you during this time.
