Wells Fargo Heli-Hydrant Dedicated and Stress Tested

On Thursday, July 29, 2021, the Orange County Fire Authority joined Yorba Linda Water District and Wells Fargo Bank for the unveiling of the Wells Fargo Heli-Hydrant to enhance wildfire response this wildfire season. The 5000-gallon hydrant can supply water to helicopters fighting fires in the region. 

The District was also joined by county and city officials to dedicate this 2nd Heli-Hydrant. The Heli-Hydrant reduced response time for helicopters to wildfires by offering a strategically placed, pilot-operated water source.

This is the 2nd Heli-Hydrant YLWD has installed at a reservoir on the edge of the Chino Hills State Park. It aims to help the fire authority respond to fires quicker and more efficiently.
