A Message from Leadership
A message from our President
Dear YLWD Community, The Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD) is committed to wildfire preparedness and response. We have built Natural Gas Emergency Generators at our most critical infrastructure so we can ensure there is power to pump water to fight fires. We also have built two helicopter hydrants in the Wildland Urban Interface zone. This July, YLWD unveiled the Wells Fargo Helicopter Hydrant and Landing Zone at the Camino De Bryant Reservoir located at the eastern end of Camino De Bryant. This second YLWD helicopter hydrant will enhance firefighting response this wildfire season. This helicopter hydrant would not have been possible without the donation of land by Wells Fargo Bank. We were honored to have Wells Fargo Region Bank President Natasha Mata and Wells Fargo SVP, Senior Relationship Manager, Lynn Love, join us to celebrate our commitment to public safety. Another integral partner we had was the Orange County Fire Authority. We worked with the Fire Authority to make this helicopter hydrant better than the already successful Marc Marcantonio helicopter hydrant. In addition to providing feedback on the operation and engineering of the hydrant, the Fire Authority also prepared the land for construction by grading the hillside. Finally, our partners at the city of Yorba Linda were consistent supporters and encouragers of this project. The District was also joined by federal, state, county, and local elected officials from Orange and Los Angeles County to dedicate this new facility. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Dedication and the community members who joined for the open house the weekend prior. Sincerely, Phil Hawkins Board PresidentFeatured Articles
