The Yorba Linda Water District is working with ACWA to prevent the tax, being called a “Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fee,” to being amended into Senate Bill 623 by Sen. Bill Monning (D-Carmel), a bill aimed at funding safe drinking water solutions for disadvantaged communities.

A statewide tax on BOTH residential and business water bills is not the right funding solution for assisting disadvantaged communities.
