On August 27, the Orange County Water District (OCWD) hosted the Orange County Grand Jury on a facilities tour, and YLWD’s J. Wayne Miller, Ph.D. Water Treatment Plant was a featured stop. The tour group began with a brief presentation, featuring insights from YLWD Director Brett R. Barbre and General Manager Mark Toy. The presentation included an overview of YLWD operations, PFAS water treatment technology, and the District’s role in wildfire preparedness for our community.

After a day of learning about local groundwater, tour guests gained a better understanding of the water’s journey from the Orange County Groundwater Basin to YLWD, one of its 19 producers, where it is safely treated and delivered to our customers. Thanks to our expert staff and partnership with OCWD, YLWD stands as a leader in the water industry and is a committed partner within the community.
