On April 16th, 2024, YLWD re-dedicated the nation’s largest PFAS Water Treatment Plant to Dr. J. Wayne Miller, the former Board President who oversaw its development.
YLWD Response to EPA Drinking Water Standard for PFAS
Today, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released the updated drinking water standards for PFAS substances (“forever chemicals”) found in groundwater. Since December 2021, YLWD has been proactively addressing PFAS in the local groundwater with the PFAS Water Treatment Plant in anticipation of these new EPA standards.
Young Civic Leaders Academy Visits YLWD For Water Education and Career Exploration
On March 27, 2024, we had the privilege of hosting high school students from Mayor Tara Campbell’s Young Civic Leaders Academy. Councilwoman Janice Lim also joined the the local high school students as they were given a tour of YLWD’s PFAS Water Treatment Plant and learned about water careers from YLWD staff!

Students from AVID College Prep classes toured Yorba Linda Water District’s (YLWD) PFAS Water Treatment Center and learned about career opportunities in the water industry.
Installation of New Aerial Marker Balls on Power Lines
The Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD) is providing this notification to inform you about upcoming helicopter activity taking place on February 22 & 23, 2024, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Southern California Edison (SCE) will be installing aerial marker balls on transmission lines near YLWD’s Marc Marcantonio Heli-Hydrant in the Hidden Hills area.
