Thank YOU for Attending YLWD's Open House!

Record-Breaking Turnout at YLWD’s 2025 Open House

The Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD) welcomed a record-breaking crowd to its annual Open House on Saturday, October 4, drawing approximately 500 attendees from across Southern California — with guests traveling from as far as Los Angeles and San Diego to get an inside look at how YLWD’s water system works.

The event featured a dynamic mix of family-friendly activities, hands-on demonstrations, and guided tours of the J. Wayne Miller, Ph.D. Water Treatment Plant — the largest PFAS treatment facility of its kind in the nation. Visitors met YLWD’s dedicated team of water professionals and learned how the District treats and delivers safe, high-quality drinking water to homes and businesses every day.

Highlights included three fully booked Water Treatment Plant Tours, a California Friendly Native Plants Workshop, interactive games and activities, live music by local surf band Blue Doom, and a visit from Ricky the Rambunctious Raindrop. YLWD’s Wastewater Collections Team wowed guests with a live sewer system simulation and unveiled the District’s new all-electric sewer inspection van, custom-built in-house with zero emissions and no noise.

YLWD extends heartfelt thanks to its community partners, including the Municipal Water District of Orange County, Orange County Water District, Orange County Sanitation District, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, City of Yorba Linda, and Yorba Linda High School Key Club, for helping make the day a success.
