YLWD Welcomes ACWA Region 10 Water Professionals
On Tuesday, October 15, the Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD/District) hosted the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Region 10 Event, attended by key representatives from over 40 local water agencies across Orange County and San Diego County.
During the event, ACWA members shared valuable insights about current water quality challenges, including emerging contaminants and PFAS impacts. An expert panel featuring General Managers from the Orange County Water District, Sweetwater Authority, and YLWD’s very own Mark Toy, discussed how these contaminants affected their agencies’ operations and the challenges they faced. Attendees also toured the District’s J. Wayne Miller, Ph.D. Water Treatment Plant, the largest PFAS water treatment plant in the nation, and had the opportunity to visit YLWD’s Wells Fargo Heli-Hydrant & Landing Zone for a helicopter demonstration by CAL FIRE.
YLWD continues to be a leader in the water industry, showcasing state-of-the-art facilities like our PFAS Water Treatment Plant, thanks in part to our partnership with the Orange County Water District. Infrastructure projects like this ensure that we continue to provide our community with high-quality, reliable water service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
