Director Trudi DesRoches Hosts Infrastructure Tour
for Residents and Community Partners

On Tuesday, February 11, the Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD/District) hosted an infrastructure tour for local residents and a few key staff from the Richard Nixon Presidential Library. YLWD Director Trudi DesRoches welcomed guests and provided a brief overview of the District’s daily operations and water supply.

During the tour, attendees got a behind-the-scenes look at YLWD’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Room to see how our state-certified Operators monitor and distribute water to our service area 24 hours a day, seven days a week. YLWD staff then provided a guided tour of our signature ion-exchange PFAS Water Treatment Plant before embarking on a tour of the Metropolitan Water District’s (MWD) Robert B. Diemer Water Treatment Plant (Diemer), located just minutes away from YLWD.

MWD’s expert staff, including Diemer Water Treatment Plant Manager, welcomed Director DesRoches and YLWD guests for an in-depth presentation and tour showcasing MWD’s imported water treatment process and cutting-edge technology. Thanks to Director DesRoches’s extensive career experience at the Diemer Plant, attendees left feeling inspired about their local tap water, reassured in YLWD’s commitment to providing safe and reliable drinking water to our community.
