On Thursday, October 17, the Orange County Water Association’s (OCWA) Emerging Professionals visited the Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD) for an informative tour and a discussion on PFAS removal and its associated challenges. YLWD General Manager, Mark Toy, shared a brief overview of the District’s groundwater sources and operations, and provided an uplifting message on leadership, followed by a Q&A session with attendees. OCWA’s Emerging Professionals group consists of individuals with 0-10 years of experience in the water industry, including college students, engineers, operators, and others.
Following the presentation, YLWD Operators led a guided tour of the J. Wayne Miller, Ph.D. Water Treatment Plant, offering insights into the successful ion exchange treatment process used to eliminate PFAS from our drinking water.
YLWD is dedicated to educating the next generation of water professionals to ensure our communities continue to thrive with high-quality, reliable water services, one drop at a time.
