On April 15–16, the Orange County Water District (OCWD) hosted its 29th annual Children’s Water Education Festival, welcoming thousands of third, fourth, and fifth grade students from across Orange County for two days of interactive, water-focused learning.

The Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD) was proud to participate as one of more than 50 presenters for the second consecutive year. Over the course of the two-day event, YLWD’s team engaged with numerous classes, reaching more than 350 students. In total, approximately 6,000 students attended the festival and participated in hands-on educational activities.

YLWD’s Public Affairs Team hosted an interactive water cycle display, paired with a “Build-Your-Own Keychain” activity. Each bead on the keychain represented a different stage of the water cycle, helping students visualize and better understand this essential process. Following the activity, students had the opportunity to spin a trivia wheel and win prizes, reinforcing key concepts in a fun and memorable way.

The festival brings together cities, water agencies, and community partners from across Orange County to educate students about regional water resources and sustainability. Participating organizations included Santa Ana Zoo, Discovery Cube Orange County, and Disneyland Resort, among many others.

YLWD is also a proud sponsor of OCWD’s award-winning Children’s Water Education Festival, which has reached more than 160,000 students since its inception. The District is grateful for the opportunity to support this impactful program and commends OCWD for hosting another successful event.
