YLWD Welcomes AWWA’s Water Conference of the West

On April 8th, the Yorba Linda Water District’s (YLWD/District) J. Wayne Miller, Ph.D. Water Treatment Plant was a featured tour during the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) Water Conference of the West in Anaheim, California. A diverse group of water experts from AWWA’s California-Nevada sector shuttled to District Headquarters, where YLWD Board Member, Director Wayne Scott, welcomed guests and provided a brief overview of the District’s services to the community. General Manager Mark Toy provided an informative presentation on YLWD’s flagship ion-exchange treatment plant design, maintenance, challenges, and lessons learned. Following the presentation, attendees embarked on a guided tour of our state-of-the-art treatment plant led by YLWD’s Chief Water Systems Operator and Production Superintendent.

Infrastructure projects like this enable YLWD to serve its customers with high-quality, reliable water, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. YLWD values the partnership with the Orange County Water District and its dedicated staff who worked diligently on this significant project.
