As strong winds and frequent heat advisories continue to impact our region, we want to reassure the 80,000 residents and businesses in Yorba Linda that the District remains proactive in its Wildfire Emergency Preparedness.
YLWD is pleased to announce the appointment of Colonel Wayne R. Scott, a longtime and highly respected member of the Yorba Linda community, as a new Board Director, following the administration of the oath of office. Director Scott will fulfill the remainder of the unexpired term of former Director Phil Hawkins and will serve in this interim capacity until 2026.
For the third consecutive year, YLWD has won Best Utility Services Provider at the Best of Yorba Linda Awards Ceremony hosted by the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce.
Notice is hereby given that Phil Hawkins resigned from the office of Director effective Tuesday, November 12, 2024 creating a vacancy on the Yorba Linda Water District’s Board of Directors. The remaining members of the Board intend to fill the vacancy by appointing a successor during a public meeting scheduled after December 3, 2024.
On Wednesday, November 6, YLWD proudly hosted Mayor Tara Campbell’s Young Civic Leaders Academy! Eleven local high school students, Mayor Campbell, and Councilwoman Janice Lim enjoyed a presentation and guided tour from one of YLWD’s Plant Operators who walked students through our PFAS Water Treatment Plant.
The Orange County Water Association’s (OCWA) Emerging Professionals visited YLWD for an informative tour and a discussion on PFAS removal and its associated challenges, followed by an inspiring message on leadership.
On October 22, YLWD proudly hosted a rededication ceremony for the Hidden Hills Booster Pump Station, a vital component of the District’s water infrastructure.
YLWD hosted the ACWA Region 10 Event, attended by key representatives from over 40 local water agencies across Orange County and San Diego County. During the event, ACWA members shared valuable insights about current water quality challenges, including emerging contaminants and PFAS impacts.
On Saturday, October 12, YLWD hosted its Open House event, with more than 350 attendees. Guests of all ages had an opportunity to meet our talented YLWD #WaterPros through various interactive department demonstrations and vehicle displays.
