On Sunday, July 3, 2022, a Yorba Linda Water District’s helicopter hydrant was activated and used by CAL FIRE, and Los Angeles County Fire Department to contain a wildland fire in Chino Hills State Park.
Starting June 16, we ASK customers VOLUNTARILY to reduce water use by 20%.
YLWD does not have specific restrictions on your water use. You can decide the best way to conserve.
In response to Governor Newsom’s Executive Order, the State Water Board has adopted an emergency regulation for urban water conservation. The regulation requires YLWD to enter Level 2 of the WSCP and prohibits commercial customers from watering nonfunctioning grass.
OCWD and the YLWD won Outstanding Water Project and Project of the Year.
$500,000 was secured for a helicopter hydrant we will place in the Wildland Urban Interface Zone bordering Yorba Linda.

The Orange County Water District and the Yorba Linda Water District are operating the nation’s largest ion exchange treatment plant.
